I recently experienced a lovely al fresco picnic-style Afternoon Tea at the beautiful landscaped split terrace in the renowned Four Seasons Hotel. Yes, you read correctly picnic-style. This is not just one for foodies but also instagram fanatics who spend longer shooting pretty food then actually eating it. However, the bonus is that luckily Afternoon Tea doesn’t get cold and this time the food does taste as good as it looks! The food is served in a beautiful traditional hamper containing vintage tins stored with a variety of sandwiches, cakes and scones. The park-like setting creates a pleasing and picture perfect experience, which is perfect for the summer months.

What I Had
The picnic-style Afternoon Tea served in a traditional hamper serves a variety of refillable sandwiches including fillings such as organic egg, cucumber and cream cheese, smoked salmon, honey roast ham and roast organic chicken. To follow the head pastry chef has created a tin of treats with a classic British summer twist: Pimm’s mousse, rhubarb and custard ice cream lolly, pistachio and strawberry tartlet, chocolate and raspberry macaroon and a trifle made with seasonal fruit. But don’t forget to leave room warm traditional and raison scones served with strawberry jam, lemon curd and thick clotted cream.
The unique presentation of the food which remains quintessentially British yet adding a fun picnic concept.
Afternoon Tea at The Four Seasons, Park Lane is £39pp.
