I recently visited the new trendy Italian joint in town, Gigi’s Mayfair. Located on Woodstock a few steps away from New Bond Street, Gigi’s is hidden away from the hustle & bustle. However, with its it’s sophisticated slate and gold entrance to it’s beautiful rich blue interior, Gigi’s Mayfair is hard to miss. The Italian menu with twist is brought to you by renowned chef Ivan Simeoli. The name Gigi’s may ring a bell, after its launch party back in September it was the talk of the town with an overwhelming amount of paparazzi and household names at the event. However, what was most spoken about was Gigi’s signature Cocktail created as a one of for Grace kelly billed at over 9k pounds. With an over filled launch party, its a shame the popularity of this eatery didn’t continue as the lunch time sitting was extremely quiet. I have no doubt this is to do with the great cocktails or the food, perhaps its the modern twists? But my first thought is the hidden location this may not come in Gigis’ favour.
What I had
Gigi’s served an array of signature dishes from their menu which is seemingly updated. My must try dishes are the pasta dishes which work beautifully with the modern Italian twists. Gigi’s also found me a whole new love for a modern tiramisu each of the elements a broken part, this is definitely worth going back for. See Gigi’s full menu here
