I recently went to the opening launch of The Lucky Pig, Fulham. The name may ring a bell, as The Lucky Pig has expanded from its underground Fitzrovian lair to a trendy new Fulham joint. So impressed by the launch, from the location, atmosphere to the rich and antique interior. I requested to properly check out the new talk of the town. I went on a Thursday evening and the bar was busy, but only having recently opened the restaurant was fairly empty. As soon as I indulged into my starter I had no idea why, with immaculate presentation and delicious food it was fair to say I was completely blown away. This is the most exquisite and affordable restaurant I have been lucky enough to visit in a long while. The Lucky Pig boasts a talented head Chef Michael Mannion and after having dined there, I don’t blame them. The restaurant has a lovely warm feel and later on in the evening, The Lucky Pig hosts a band on their stage. This was my only complaint as it was far too noisy, you couldn’t hear yourself think let alone talk!

What I had
To start I had the Seared Scallops which were served on a Sea-Weed Potato Cake, whilst my dinner date had Ale Cured Salmon, Radish & English Asparagus Slaw- both were beautifully presented and equally delicious. To follow we both had Pave of Rump Steak, Garlic and Bone Marrow Butter and Triple Cooked Chips – the steak was flavoursome and melted in your mouth and you can never go wrong with hand- cut chips! To follow, I had the Chocolate Ganache . Every dish exceeded expectations, especially for such an affordable price. I couldn’t recommend The Lucky Pig more.
I’m torn, each dish was incredible.
