Last week I ticked one of my must visit summer hang outs off my list, Sky Pod. Sky Pod is a seasonally changing cocktail bar located at Sky Garden – London’s highest public garden 35 floors up offering the most phenomenal views. Formerly known as Rhubarb, the bar has shed it’s winter coat and currently features as an Eccentric English Country Garden. Not only are the views of London outstanding, but Sky Pod’s interior is extremely easy on the eye. Decorated with daffodils, vibrant faux grass and furnished with outdoor seating and lanterns. On Thursday to Saturday nights Sky Pod hosts live bands and DJ’s with some of the hottest talent around. However, I went on Tuesday so it’s safe to say Sky Pod hosts a great atmosphere all week round.
Sky Pod at Sky Gardens
What I Had
We started with Sky Pod’s signature Princess Jasmine cocktail which is served with an edible flower of candy floss. This was then washed down by our next drink, The Chelsea Garden which was served in a cute tub. Sky Pod certainly have an eye for detail, which results in a copious amount of instagramming (is that a word?) the cocktails really are too pretty not to! To feed our appetites we shared a few sharing boards including the British charcuterie and the Neal’s Yard & Goodwood Estate cheese platter, both were delicious and Sky Pod are extremely generous with their portions. This was then followed by carlingford rock oysters, which went down nicely followed by a sip of prosecco.
